WHAT IS HYPNOBIRTHING?

Hypnobirthing is both a philosophy and a technique that uses self hypnosis and deep relaxation to help women feel physically and mentally prepared for labour and birth. To release all fear and have faith in your body and your baby.

Birth is natural. Birth is normal. Women’s bodies are designed and created to conceive, grow and birth babies. 
During your Hypnobirthing Australia™ Positive Birth course, you and your support partner will learn all of the tools and techniques to reach a state of total calm and relaxation through mindset work, breathing, visualisation and self hypnosis. You will gain an understanding of how the birthing muscles work in perfect harmony, just as they were designed to do. This course is as much about mindset work as it is about techniques for childbirth. 


The ‘hypno’ part of ‘hypnobirthing’ refers to the hypnotherapy (or deep relaxation) that we use to let go of fears and reservations leading up to birth and condition ourselves to release endorphins during childbirth. With the help of hypnotherapy your birth can be a calm and relaxing experience where you feel in control which can lead to reduced interventions.  Whether you are planning a vaginal birth or require a cesarean, hypnobirthing helps you to create a positive mindset and prepares you to have the positive birth that you desire, no matter how your baby arrives.
